| Why is so much sexism in comic books these days? Why is that these comic artists want to draw these women with big **** and nice butt? It isn't like anime which Japan have a different culture than US and very tolerant to this topic. Just saying. |
| I don't like the sexism either, but then again you have to remember this is an art form primarily done by *male* artists. That and T&A has been a part of comics for a while now - even female characters who are fully clothed get it. Even female heroes/villains that DON'T have skimpy outfits usually have outfits that accent their curves and assets to compensate. Unfortunately there seems to be a bit of an attitude that female comics characters need to show they're female, and for a lot of guys that seems to translate into "LOL SHOW UR BEWBS GURL". To be fair, the "nice butt" thing could come partially from all the work female heroes and villains do. Catwoman, for example, and her fighting style - it makes sense that someone who knows close hand-to-hand combat and can use it would have well-developed muscles all over their body, and therefore would have firm rear end muscles and therefore a nice butt, though part of it is also the sexualization, I agree. The OMG BIG BEWBS thing is obnoxious, since obviously not all females have big 'uns, but breast size really depends on the artist, and some artists are VERY fond of big-breasted women. Oh, and on the subject of Anime... it's not so much a different culture as a more polite one. You're a LOT more likely to see T&A in Hentai and pornographic Anime or Anime aimed at an older audience. In things such as Sailor Moon or Pokemon it's not necessarily appropriate, because... well, those are more aimed at guys. Though every now and again you do see gag boobs even in Anime, or women with ample breasts. The Japanese just as much as Americans know that sex can sell, they just don't use it as much as far as I'm aware - if we're obsessed with sex over here, they're obsessed with Kawaii (cuteness). I wouldn't stress about it too much. Just focus on the characters and remember that THEM and THEIR STORIES are what you came here for, and the art is there to help tell it. In the end I don't read Batman to see Bruce Wayne shirtless (though if he winds up BEING shirtless I'm not going to complain) or to see Harley Quinn half-clothed, I read it for the stories, because generally the stories are good. You can still like comics without liking T&A, and of course if something makes you uncomfortable you can always stop reading it. On another note, why would it be wrong for a female to find another female sexually attractive, or for a man to find another man sexually attractive for that matter? Unless you're straight and it makes you uncomfortable I mean, in that case I understand why you would be annoyed. |

| Strange effects on weed, please help.? I think I've been stoned and coming down for three days. No lie everything still seems weird and floaty. Why do the bad drug experiences last so lonnnng. Anyway, I've got a question. So, I get stoned on weed pretty often, maybe once a week and I've been doing that for 2 years now. I usually get the normal high, the expected, typical nice high you get with weed. On Saturday I was smoking a bong of some weed my friend got me(not the usual dealer I get it from, his dealer who I know nothing about). It was a 15 bag and I had about....8 hits on the bong I'd say. My friend warned me there was a big bud in the bit I was about to take a hit from but this isn't anything unusual, I was happy that it was good quality stuff. After about five minutes I started to feel stoned, but different than usual. Almost like I was on acid and coming up really quickly, my hands felt like they were wet and tingly but at this point I just was buzzing that I was getting stoned off a smaller amount than usual. Then BOOM. I can't really remember what happened in this ten minutes but I went from being a good stoned to be absolutely tripping off my ****. Everything went 2D and time seemed to be moving in sequences, very, very dream like. I was tripping stronger than I usually do on acid or a large amount of mushrooms. I couldn't feel below the waist apart from mild tingles in the legs, I noticed this when my friends cat began rubbing against my leg, when I looked down they weren't my legs, they were, but I couldn't feel a thing. I could still walk perfectly well. I know this isn't typical effects of weed and felt much more like acid. I went down stairs to the party, it was a small, chilled house thing and the atmosphere was good. Then I got the worst cotton mouth that no amount of water would take away. I sat in the living room(still everything was in 2d). I seemed to be pulled from reality and the scenario wasn't actually happening. I could see my friends conversing and the music was playing but I still felt that it wasn't happening. People were talking to me and everything I thought to say came out wrong, I was talking complete **** but in my mind it made sense. I can't remember but from others accounts I kept saying 'Its like a comic, a cartoon, flat, flat its all flat.' I was still sitting in the living room at this point and I got the 'wet' feeling again in my legs and bum. I couldn't feel them apart from this wet feeling, like I was sitting in a pond of water. I got extremely anxious that I had pissed myself and kept checking, but I hadn't. Then a argument occurred. It was about me and some guy who was being a dick and saying something, usually, even if stoned I would react appropriately but the 'dream' state made it feel that it wasn't happening, so I just stared at everyone shouting at one another. (Also can't remember this) but if someone asked me if I was ok all I said was 'i'm stoned, too strong, stoned, never going to end' and things along those lines. We went home(this was about 3 hours since I took any substance) and I still felt extremely trippy, paranoid and out of control. Time was still moving in sequences and the world was still very flat and fake. I'll cut off here and basically this feeling occurred until I woke up the next morning, although even today I still feel a bit out of it. I need to clarify that I've only ever had experiences like this with strong hallucinogenics, and it reminded me most of a weak datura trip. Nothing like how I normally feel when stoned on far larger doses, usually I just chill out, appreciate my senses and come down pretty quickly, but this was totally different. I didn't take any other substances that day, not even alcohol. I still have half the bag left. So, my question is, what the **** was that and why did it happen/last so long? Very unpleasant as I don't like tripping at parties or with people I don't know well, the exact reason I chose to get weed and not acid. |
| I don't know much about drugs, but I imagine if you got it from a new dealer who you don't know much about, as your friend if they ever felt similar taking that weed, and if the dealer did anything to it. Because of all the crap that gets mixed in, it may have just been something new (or possibly the fact that it was just better quality and made your mind react differently). I recommend that if you don't like tripping at parties or with people you don't know well to not try get drugs at a party or with people you don't know well. Especially when its from a new dealer, I imagine you're meant to give it a test drive before hand. Sorry that I don't have much experience or knowledge. Try give it a little google search, see what pops up. |
